Upcoming podcast, Twitter chat will precede presentation on stopping price erosion
Attorney Whitney Gibson will be a featured speaker at the 28th Annual Spring Pricing Workshops & Conference in Miami on May 4, 2017, and he will speak about combating price erosion. The event is hosted by the Professional Pricing Society.
More than 4,800 active members worldwide, from more than 600 leading companies in 75 countries, will attend. It is one of the five international programs the Professional Pricing Society hosts each year.
The Professional Pricing Society has designed the upcoming event to deliver the latest best practices, innovative trends and strategic skills in the pricing field.
Gibson—the head of Vorys’ online enforcement group—will speak during the pricing practitioners’ breakout session track. His presentation is titled “A New Approach for Stopping Third-Party Unauthorized Sellers.”
Gibson’s presentation will focus on the unauthorized sales problem from the perspective of an outside counsel who has worked with several brands, manufacturers, and retailers across the country to fight online price erosion.
More specifically, he will discuss comprehensive approaches for addressing online price deterioration/ price erosion. This includes:
- distribution strategies that can minimize price erosion online;
- policies that can prevent authorized sellers from reducing their online advertised products; and
- tactics to stop third-party unauthorized sellers from selling discounted products.
Prior to the conference, Gibson will share snippets of his presentation.
This includes a podcast recording, which will go live on Tuesday, March 14, and available at the Professional Pricing Society’s Resource Center. The podcast will consist of a short Q&A focused on price erosion and issues surrounding unauthorized sellers.
Then, on April 12 at 1:00 p.m. ET, Gibson will participate in a live Twitter chat. This chat will include questions specific to his presentation. You can follow and participate in the Twitter chat using the hashtag, #PricingPodcast. Soon after the chat, a chat recap will be available online.
